PPC Affiliate Marketing: Not for the Faint of Heart
There’s one type of affiliate marketing that takes a strong stomach. Don’t get me wrong. The potential for profit with PPC (pay per click) marketing is out of this world good. The downside to that though is that there are a few added risks with PPC marketing that you might not experience quite as profoundly as you will in other marketing efforts.
The Good about Being a PPC Affiliate
First, it’s a good idea to explore what’s so great about PPC marketing as an affiliate. The best benefit, by far, is the fact that you’re only paying to advertise to those who actually click on your site. It means that they were at least interested enough in the topic to make the click and are more likely to actually be interested in making a purchase than casual surfers who find you online would be. In other words the traffic you do receive is highly targeted traffic and you aren’t paying a flat fee to post to the masses.
The not-so-good about PPC Marketing as an Affiliate
It really is all good though. The unknown always is a little frightening. The thing about pay per click advertising is that you do pay for the clicks. If you don’t watch what’s going on you could find yourself paying for a lot of clicks out of nowhere. This is not a campaign you want to leave going while you head out of town on vacation or even go to sleep for the night. You want to be available to observe what is going on and make the most of your efforts.
Most people who have started PPC affiliate marketing campaigns absolutely love them. The profit potential is high and the fact that your traffic is so well targeted means that you’re even more likely to generate a sale from the traffic you do receive than other affiliate marketing efforts.
